The Better Software Company secures $1.6 million in VC funding

The Better Software Company, provider of SaaS solutions for small businesses, has secured another $1.6 million in venture capital funding.

The round was led by Ottawa-based Mistral Venture Partners and included Wesley Clover, ffVentures and IAF.

The Better Software Company said the funds will help in the expansion of its development team with the former head of IBM’s Watson Analytics, Kevin Haaland, at the lead.

Steve Cody, The Better Software Company CEO, announced the financing to staff with help from a special friend: a lion brought in to signify the business atmosphere.
