Human Resource Manager

LaBarge Weinstein LLP, A Business Law Firm with offices in Ottawa, Toronto, and Vancouver, is looking for a Human Resource Manager with 3-5 years of experience to work from its Ottawa office on a permanent full-time basis.

In this position, you will be responsible for the management of the human resource functions across the firm including employee relations, recruitment, hiring and salary negotiation, onboarding programs for new hires, coming up with effective compensation strategies for employees, ensuring legal compliance with labour practices and assisting with addressing employee concerns and finding solutions for those concerns. You will also be responsible for the management of the evaluation process within the firm and managing the firm’s employee benefit plan.

Successful candidates should have a university degree in human resource management or a professional designation in human resources.  In addition, applicants should have good written and communication skills, active listening and problem-solving skills for employee relations, knowledge of general human resources strategies, and a demonstrated ability to communicate with all levels within an organization in order to proactively identify any human resource needs within the firm. Experience in the professional services industry would be considered an asset.
