Corporate, Commercial & Securities
Taisha is an Associate in the Corporate, Commercial and Securities group. Her practice focuses on domestic and cross-border M&A, as well as equity and debt financings, including private placements and public offerings. Taisha has assisted a broad range of clients, from startups and private companies, to public issuers and underwriters.
Taisha joined LaBarge Weinstein as a summer student in 2012, and returned to the firm to complete her articles in 2013-2014. Prior to articling, she obtained her Juris Doctorate from the University of Ottawa where she was awarded the Vern Krishna Scholarship and the Students Federation of the University of Ottawa Educational Foundation Scholarship. While working towards her JD, Taisha completed an internship with BMO’s Legal, Corporate and Compliance Group. She also competed in the Wilson Moot Court Competition as well as the Nelligan O’Brien Payne LLP Moot Court Competition. During law school, Taisha enjoyed volunteering with the Women’s Legal Mentorship Program and acting as Chair of the Black Law Students’ Association of Canada.
Taisha is actively involved in the community. She is a member of the Canadian Bar Association (CBA), the Ontario Bar Association (OBA) and the Canadian Association of Black Lawyers (CABL), and enjoys serving on the OBA’s Young Lawyers Division East Executive and the OBA’s Business Law Section Executive.
